Project Aims

  • To highlight best practices in mentoring immigrants, and specifically to investigate the role of mentoring for immigrant women’s careers
  • To gather new knowledge and share experiences across Finland, Denmark and Norway, in order to develop and enhance employment-promoting methods for the target group
  • To develop recommendations for integration activities in the Nordic region, including how cooperation between the third sector and public authorities can support immigrant women getting a foothold in the labour market.

Results

  • Report: In April 2024, Kvinder i Job published a report on mentoring and barriers to employment for migrant women in the Nordic countries. Data was collected in each organisation using previous evaluations and new interviews with participants, stakeholders and staff.
  • Conference: The report was presented at a hybrid Nordic conference in May 2024. Co-creation and partnerships among the third, public and private sectors were further developed through thematic workshops in each local context.
  • Catalogue: Based on the conference workshops the project will publish a catalogue on cross-sector collaboration in the integration field.
