Meet Our New FIKA-Coordinator!

Published Categorised as News

My name is Nanny, and my journey to becoming a FIKA coordinator on this team has been quite unexpected. I’ve spent the majority of my life working in humanitarian aid and development assistance. However, a serious stroke led me to a 12-year hiatus from the workforce. When I heard about the FIKA coordinator position, it piqued my interest, and I decided to apply. Interestingly, it’s the first time in 30 years that I’ve worked in Swedish, and I must say, it’s been a truly enjoyable experience. What excites me the most about being a FIKA coordinator is the opportunity to assist immigrants in their journey to integrate into the Capital Region. Luckan, with its diverse and inclusive environment, serves as an excellent meeting point for a wide range of people, which makes this role even more meaningful.

In my role as a FIKA coordinator, I’m guided by the values of openness, transparency, and professionalism. These principles are crucial in creating an environment that fosters a strong sense of community and social connection. When it comes to matching FIKA pairs, I believe it’s essential to consider shared hobbies and interests. When mentors and mentees have common ground, they can connect more deeply and sustain a successful mentoring relationship. This is a key aspect I’ll be focusing on in my role.

Outside of work, my interests are primarily in reading and traveling. I’m an avid reader and typically have two or three books on the go simultaneously. In addition, I have a deep passion for traveling and have had the privilege of visiting over 70 countries, exploring various cultures and gaining diverse experiences.

As a newcomer to this team, my initial observations have been quite positive. It’s a dynamic and youthful group of individuals who work independently but are always willing to offer their help and support. The team spirit here is truly remarkable, creating a welcoming and collaborative atmosphere. I look forward to contributing to the team and making a positive impact as a FIKA coordinator. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
