We would like to introduce you to our new colleague, Ramona Larsen, who has recently joined our team as a CIRKELN coordinator. Ramona is an excellent coordinator with a warm personality and firsthand experience as a newcomer, seeking new friends to enjoy fun activities and create a sense of belonging.
My name is Ramona, and I am 34 years old. I moved to Finland 2.5 years ago. Originally, I am from Uganda and moved from there 9 years ago. Since then, I have lived in Nigeria, Netherlands, Germany, Bahrain, and now Finland. Helsinki feels like home, possibly because of the nature and the calm people. I moved to Finland due to my husband’s work and decided to enroll in Swedish integration. I love the nature here and enjoy going for walks in the forest whenever I get the chance. During my free time, I like to go to the gym, and at the moment, I am going to try making some abstract art DIY with my kids for fun.
Previously, I have been involved in volunteer work with Mothers In Business (MIB). I volunteered as part of the communications team, where I handled social media communications and hosted events. When we had just moved here, I worked at Posti. That was a good experience at a time when I really needed to get out of the house and do something.
I love meeting new people and trying new things—foods, places, hobbies, traditions, and learning about other cultures. As a CIRKELN coordinator, I create social circles of three to five like-minded people who share similar interests and language and are also curious about meeting and getting to know new people. Having lived in several other countries myself, I have experience in the challenge of forming new friendships and integrating into a new society. That’s one of the reasons why I enjoy my job, because I can really relate to my clients!
