It is widely recognized that Finland is currently struggling with the challenge of a declining working-age population, underscoring the importance of immigration as a critical driver for population growth, among other factors. We recognize the critical steps that have been taken to address this challenge. However, we are concerned with the potential impact of the new government Programme on attracting, retaining, and integrating immigrants in Finland and the far-reaching consequences it might incur for the country. We believe there is a need for a comprehensive examination of the new proposal, taking into account the best interests of everyone involved.
