Hi there! My name is Amanda, I was born and lived some of my life abroad before moving to my homeland. By the time I was a teenager I had visited all 5 continents in the world and knew how lucky I was to have the opportunity to travel and be exposed to a variety of different cultures. Having moved around a lot, I know what it is like to be an alien in the world and thus I was always the kid in school to welcome the new or foreign pupil. Now here I am at Luckan doing pretty much the same thing!
Prior to joining Luckan, I spent many years working in performing arts, public relations, event management and marketing; social roles surrounded by all sorts of personalities! My work brought me to Finland and introduced me to the Finlandssvenskt community. I then married a native and moved here 3 years ago.
I am delighted to join the Luckan Integration team as the new Cirkeln Coordinator, a project that I feel passionately about. I love connecting people together, helping to cultivate new and valuable relationships. This is something I have done throughout my life both personally and professionally. In my previous roles, I would often need to connect the right people for every job, and I hope this will serve my Cirkeln clients well when matching participants into suitable social circles. I will also be supporting some marketing tasks and hosting events that we organise here at Luckan.
I would like to build on making Cirkeln a fun and easy way for people to make new connections with the potential to harness deeper, more meaningful relationships. I’m excited to continue developing the project to give as many people as possible the chance to extend their network and make the capital region really feel like home.
The Luckan team consists of a cosy bunch of talented folk who are dynamic and very supportive. The whole place is host to a creative, melting pot of ideas, constant development and a thriving hub of activity, all geared towards how to best serve the community. I’m honoured to join the team and work alongside them.
