When you move to Finland, employment services provide you with assistance for integration and employment. There are different services to help you settle, find work and learn the language. If your family members move to Finland with you, they may also be entitled to these services.
The integration plan is an individual plan on how you can integrate into Finland and, for example, enter the workforce. While the integration plan is being prepared it is important to get enough information about the possibilities to learn either Swedish or Finnish within the integration plan. When the integration plan is complete, you can receive integration training. Integration training is organised by different educational institutes. Integration training includes Finnish or Swedish language studies and studies related to Finnish society and working life.
It includes individual guidance from your arrival to until you feel integrated. In the region of Nyland/Uusimaa, there are two providers of Swedish integration training; Arbis in Helsingfors/Helsinki, and Akan in Borgå/Porvoo. The courses start in the autumn.
If you prefer an online integration training course then you should look into Arffman’s course. Depending on where you live you might be eligible for this online course. Our guidances or your unemployment services will help you out.
If you are unemployed, integration training can be a part of your integration plan, or be seen as part-time studies. Find out more from your local unemployment services.
Intensive language course will prepare students for vocational education or employment in Swedish in Finland, especially within the social and healthcare sector. Read more here. The course is a cooperation between Borgå Folkakademi, Prakticum and Folkhälsan.
Integration means learning, participating, and finding your place in Finnish society. Multilingual civic orientation offers information about life in Finland in several languages, helping newcomers understand society and feel included. It’s about building a shared future together.
