Children with Disabilities

Children with disabilities are entitled to education according to their needs and abilities. Special support, a special needs assistant, or special education may be offered, depending on the individual child.
If your child is disabled or you suspect a disability, and you are not yet receiving support, please contact the daycare centre, school staff, or the maternity and child health clinic.

In Helsingfors the Family Center in Berghäll/Kallio services the Swedish-speakers. You can find information on disability services in Helsingfors here. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to call the advisory number.
For information about the services in Esbo, read here.
For Vanda you can start here.
For Grankulla you will find the information here.

Please contact the maternity and child health guidance in your municipality if you are unsure or wondering about your child’s development.
