Luckan has received funding from the Nordic Council of Ministers for a Nordic cooperation project named Kvinder i Job (Women at Work) 2023-24. The aim of the project is to gather knowledge about the impact of mentoring programmes on immigrant women’s employment and educational opportunities in Finland, Denmark and Norway.
The research results are intended to highlight best practices in mentoring for immigrants, develop integration activities in the Nordic region, and analyse how cooperation between the third sector and public authorities can support immigrant women getting a foothold in the labour market.
On the 1st of June, Luckan, Kvinfo and Sammen om en jobb (SAJO) had the first physical meeting in Copenhagen. Together we went through the project outline, our expectations, and the research plan, while also thinking about the Nordic conference that will follow the publication of our report in spring 2024.
Luckan’s mentoring programme FIKA has been active for over 11 years already, and while it has seen many changes in form and funding over the years, it now attracts more participants than ever! We believe the Kvinder i Job-project will strengthen our regular activities through new insights into mentoring and how we best can serve our participants who are looking for a way into employment.
A warm thank you to our new collaboration partners and financiers! We look forward to working on this important topic in our communities.
